Freedom is a "present"

Over the last few days God has revealed to me several things..I'm currently reading Cconversations With God" about this guy who had a dialogue with God when he hit rock bottom (he was disabled, lost his job and was homeless)..If you haven't seen the movie I highly encourage you to do so..It really shifted my focus on helping others and realizing a lot of them can't help their situation.
In the book God was talking to him about the word "present"..he said we need to stop focusing on our past and our future and just live in the "present" moment and if we do that we will be less anxious and just be grateful for the "present" moment God has given us..our life could be taken from us in a millisecond..we should all live like that..I think if we kept that as our perspective life would be a lot better..He also said that our "present" moment is a "present" from God! He's funny how he plays on words..but that's so true and I never thought of it like that! How neat.
Yesterday I was in Sunday School and we were talking about Luke ch 10 and we were on Jesus sending out the 72 ahead of him to spread the good news..and then it popped into my head the word present again and if you take the word apart pre-sent..he pre sent the 72 before him just like we are "pre- sent " ahead of him before his second coming to spread the good news before his return..Wow!
Today I was listening to Andy Stanley's 4th of July sermon and he's talking about Freedom and I was looking at the word "freedom " and Andy said that if if stop focusing on "free from" rather than on "free to" life would be better..and then I thought "free to do God's work"..Which is very true..We should all be grateful that we are free to worship, free to help others, free to live, free to do, ..he says you can get in trouble when you focus too much on freedom and abuse it or take it for granted even. He used the anaology of a teenager driving for the first time...
Freedom is a "present" from God..Let us not take it for granted and focus on being more grateful!
