God in America

My mom and I were having a conversation today 2/5/12 before church about Keeping God in the schools and how America has gotten away from God and giving in to the status quo...how we Christians need to start stepping it up and defending and not giving in to society in general.She was discussing this as I was reading my bible verses for the day ..I was reading Psalm 33:12.."Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!"..WOW!!! Some people would think that is a coincidence but I believe it's a Godcidence..I know that's not a word but that was perfectly timed. I feel He wants us to wake up ..this Nation as a whole especially with the upcoming election..I pray his will, will be done and we will become more courageous and stand up for what we believe in..it's time to get God back in the schools and in the nation!!!

Smiley face and marriage conference

About 3 weeks ago I was praying for my marriage and that day I went to life way and was browsing devotionals and I saw this lady who was looking at the devotional from the movie courageous and told her that is a good one and she told me her son is a single dad and is having a hard time and I told her to have him watch the movie and she said she would and then all of a sudden she said Kirk Cameron is coming to Olive Baptist church Jan 21st for a marriage conference. I felt this was my answer to prayer! I felt like I knew this lady all my life as well. It was very neat. Josh did agree to go and my I laws said they would watch the girls. The night before the conference we had Mary night and was able to really go to the Lord in prayer and be prayed over. At the conference Kirk Cameron spoke about 1) the heart of my struggle is the challenge of my own selfish heart and without supernatural transformation of your heart nothing will work, we will always go back to our own selfish desires. 2) you can't change your spouse , you can only change yourself with the help of the holy spirit. And how do you love someone over and over who rejects you, well, Jesus loves you even though you reject him .3) have effective war strategy to destroy sin. And love doesn't keep a record of wrongs. When we confess our sin to another we can be healed. If we leave the battle we will eventually be in another. Romance springs from sacrifice not convience. Then he gave a few principles for men from verse 1 peter 3: 7 1) spend time with each other 2) study your wife ( each other) 3) honor your wife 4) protect5) manage aggression in conflict 6) open up to her 7) pray with her

I have blogged this because I believe all those points he made can work both ways and are important in any relationship especially relationship with God. He desires to spend time with each one of us!

My next story is not related to the above but could be since he reveals things to those who seek him! I was praying before I went on call since going on call makes me somewhat nervous since I feel it's all on me! I was cooking my egg at the time and I prayed for his peace and that I would have an easy time. All of a sudden I look down at my egg and it formed a smiley face. 2 eyes and a mouth. I quickly took a picture ( u can see it on Facebook) and I started laughing since God is funny like that. I then went to my daily devotional " Jesus Calling" and my Praying God's word every day." and on that day it said( jan 13) in Jesus calling " to expect each day to contain surprises!" and then in the other devotional it gave a bible verse of Lamentations 3:22-26 " The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him. The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

A little while later I talked to my best friend Tanya and she said she was cooking cream of wheat the day after the egg incident and she happened to see a smiley face in her cream of wheat! It's awesome how God always confirms what he may reveal to u!

3 days of 3 and 33 and the "glowing pants"

God is continuing to reveal himself through the number 3:33..The Other day I was at a patients house and her lab value was 33.3 and 3.3...I just chuckled since I knew it was from him. The next day another patients lab value (glucose) was 33! Wow..then the next day it was 33 degrees! It's awesome how i'm not even looking for it and he just gives it to me! I still am not clear if there is a message he's trying to give me and i'm just not "seeing" it but for now I know that 3 stands for trinity and 33 is the age of Jesus when he died.
I have been sick with a cold the last few days and I have been taking nyquil at night to help me sleep..well the other morning i woke up at 330 and I went to the bathroom and came back and it was hot so i took my flannel pj's off but while i was doing that I saw several "twinkling lights"..soft yellow in color literally in my pants..I thought i was hallucinating since I was on nyquil ..it did look like it was "Lightening bugs"..which is what it reminded me of..I tried to show Josh since he was awake and said "don't you see the lights?"..he failed to see them however. I told the girls the next morning and they said it was "Angels"..Could have been..Also it was the same day as my grandfather's bday so maybe he was sending me a message. It's amazing the things that God shows us every day that Our brain just can't comprehend in this present age and how exciting it will be when we will have some of the answers we do seek. I'm just excited for the things he continues to reveal to me!

Revelations on cruise trip!

God did reveal quite a few things to me during my cruise: the first is while i was in lake city we stopped at cracker barrel and i looked on map quest to see how much longer and it said 3 hours and 33 min left!!! I about fell out of my chair!
Then I found this statue in the cozumel and it's a pic of Jesus and the lords supper encompassed in hands and they wanted 13 dollars and 33 cents! And then i saw it again somewhere else and i talked the guy down and he said "33 dollars" and i said i will take it! Haha. Then I bought a cross necklace and on the back it looks like a face in the wood!
Also I wanted to see how much ammolite jewlery is since i learned it has 4 colors of the rainbow in it ..i was talking to josh about it and i looked outside and there was a rainbow! and then we got home and there was another rainbow right over my house!
I got home and I saw an email from my best friend Tanya and she sent me a link to watch a secret staircase that was built at this church in santa fe, mexico..the nuns didn't have a staircase leading to choir loft whcn church was built and so they prayed and 9 days later a carpenter showed up and built it without even using a nail and the wood didn't even come from around there..and there were exactly 33 steps which is the age of Jesus when he died!..Amazing!!!!!!!!and the carpenter disappeared and didn't even get paid!

Another "healing" rainbow

My dad called me yesterday and said they found bacteria in his blood and he was having more blood work done. I then proceeded to call my brother and was getting anxious and worried but then as I was driving to work there appeared a rainbow in front of me..(see previous testimony about the rainbow). I instantly felt God's presence and knew all would be okay.
Mom told me today that Dad slept better last night than he ever has and feels better today! Another "healing"..!!! Praise God!!!!!!!!! I love the signs he gives us ..we just need to be open and aware to the signs! Thank you Lord for the rainbows you give as a sign of your wonderous healing and promises !!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning prayer time!

This morning I had a nightmare and woke up at 545am and couldn't go back to sleep. I began thinking negative thoughts such as what if this nightmare becomes a reality and some other things i have been struggling with lately. I then began to go to God in prayer and prayed for specific things (to guard my heart and not let negative thoughts creep in and keep me focused on him and his wonderful unconditional love for me and thanking him for the Rainbows that he gives during the "storms" of life). Well then during the mist of prayer, I looked on facebook, which I never do while i'm conversing with God but for some reason I felt let to do this..I looked and I'm friends with "Jesus Daily" (they usually put a verse or something to meditate on daily) and it said

FIVE THINGS GOD TAUGHT US WITH THE ARK:
1. Don't miss the boat.
2. We are all in the same boat,
3, Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job God orders.
4. Build your future on high ground.
5. No matter the storm when you are with God, a rainbow is waiting!

Then I keep scrolling down on facebook and it said in "thoughts about God" the following:The world financial situation bounces like a rubber ball again. It’s fragile and unpredictable.

The morning news tells us the financial markets continue to tumble.
Financial leaders are meeting to try to figure out how to avert panic.
I clicked from the news to my devotional email and read the Bible verse Mike Woodward highlighted for today.

Proverbs 4:23
“Above all else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.”

Perfect verse to counter the unease of the morning news. I thought on it for a few moments ……
“above all else” . I sometimes ask the Lord for my “marching orders for the day” and here it was ….. my priority today was to keep a guard at my heart and to do that I needed to faithfully guard what I allowed to come into my thoughts and settle into my heart.
“it is the wellspring of life”. Humm…… what I allowed to settle into my heart would overflow into my day … into my relationships … my actions … my reactions.

Tall order when anxiety of any kind surfaces threatening to consume and devour us.
Just as I pondered the “how” of this wise verse another verse filtered through my thoughts and I quickly googled it to find the reference. Listen to the amazing flow of God’s wisdom to us…

Philippians 4:4-7

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again. Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which passes all understand, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Wow! Here was the answer to the “how” of guarding my wellspring of life, my heart. God will actually send His peace to do it for me if I simply choose my responses today.

1. Choose to Rejoice in the Lord always. Focus on all the Lord is and offers to us through Himself. Take one point and make it the meditation of your day.

2. Choose to Remember He is near. When anxiety threatens ask God to remind you that He is right there and He will steady you and give you the wisdom you need.

3. Choose to Respond in prayer. Worry is a call to prayer. Choose to lay your request before God and ask for His guidance.

4. Choose to Retain thanksgiving. Leave your concern with the Lord and focus instead on who He is and His ability to hold you through any challenge. Maintain a grateful heart for even the smallest of His blessings. Watch for them.

Result: His peace, which is beyond understanding, will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

Pretty amazing really when you pause to ponder it.

• All our spillover today in our actions, relationships, words, attitudes, will pour from what is in our hearts.

• We are told by God to guard our hearts.

• When we choose to focus on Him (Rejoice) / to Remember He is right there with us/to pray (Respond) even when we don’t feel like it/ and to Retain gratitude in our hearts …… then an amazing thing happens….

God’s peace itself guards our hearts AND our minds…. thorough Jesus Christ and we REST even in the midst of unsettling times!

Lord God,Please help me today to choose to guard my heart through these four steps and to experience Your amazing and un-explainable peace settling over my heart and mind by the power of Jesus. Thank you for Your wonderful provision when I turn my eyes to You. In the strong name of Jesus I pray, amen.

WOW!!!!!!!!! He showed me 3 things that I was just praying/praising him for..these 3 things were posted on facebook for Today!! It's amazing amazing and amazing what God does! Praise him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It gets better..during my prayer time this am I was talking to him and mentioned the verse "Ask and you shall recieve" well as I was reading my daily bible reading , I was reading in Luke 11:9-10 and it said "And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened."
Wow Again!!!!!! God is amazing..I'm pretty overwhelmed by all the things he chooses to reveal! He loves everyone sooooo much!!!!!!!!! I do not take these things for granted and it's not by coincidence..I mean really..the very specific things I prayed about he turned around and revealed those specific things! It wasn't 1 thing, it was 3 things..He didn't have to do that, but he did..He's Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I pray for everyone 's eyes to be opened to the things he is wanting to show you and I pray everyone will spend more time with their Creator/Lord. He desires such intimacy and that is my hearts desire for everyone! Love you all and Love you JESUS!!!!!!!

Prayer ministry

The other day Suzanne called me from the church i attend and said my friend Jill referred me to her to possibly join the prayer team at our church..I was so excited since I am a firm believer in prayer and felt God moving me in this direction. I would be praying for the pastor before service and during service and after service to whomever needed prayer one sunday each month. So today was my first day and as I was praying this am and reading my daily bible reading he gave me psalm 34 which was about calling upon him and he will answer you and relieve you from your fears. I underlined this verse since it spoke volumes to me. I was then able to share this verse with someone who came in to recieve prayer..God's timing is always perfect. I feel so blessed to be apart of the prayer ministry..God gets all the glory!!!!!!!
