Mary night

A few weeks ago we had "mary night" ..a night of reflection /worship/communion. My mom just retired from the school and has been having some difficulty adjusting to being "retired" and letting go /grieving over her job. It's hard when you work for so many years and think "now what?". Anyway..It was an awesome time and we discussed letting go of our fears and trusting God. We each were given a verse to read and I got Jeremiah 29: 11 which was my verse at my walk to Emmaus. My mom got Romans 4: 5 "However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." WOW!! Everyone that was there got a verse that meant something to them or ministered to them in such a great way! At the end, we were talking to one of my friends and she was telling me how she had lily in her group for VBS and how lily shared the story how my mom was healed 6 years ago. My mom and I then proceed to walk into the living room to gather our things and on the tv (she had it on christian music channel)...the song that started was the song that ministered to me while Mom was ill 6 years ago from 10th avenue north (hold my heart).. We both instantly were overwhelmed and then i started to leave and another lady that was there shared her story how God conveyed to her to be still and know he is God...which was what Jesus conveyed to my mom when he healed her 6 years ago! I felt like God was wanting to remind my mom what he did for her 6 years ago..that he is the HEALER and he is her comforter etc..That all she has to do is keep her eyes on Him and he will direct her paths.. She did feel better after that..sometimes we all need reminders of what God has done for us especially when you are down.
