"Love"

I was watching Daystar this am (Just happened to turn on the tv and there it was) and Kerry Shook was on talking about Love/Marriage. Some things that really stood out that he said are the following: Love is NOT a feeling it's a CHOICE. When we first meet our mate we are "attracted " to them .attraction will change and feelings will change due to us being imperfected..we all fall short..but Love is given to us by God ..it's unconditional, it's giving 100 percent to our spouse, an all out TOTAL commitment..not taking each other for granted..
Think about it ..all of the awards/achievements in life will not matter in the end..it's about the relationships we have with our family. This world forces on us to think about material things and to always strive at work , bring home lots of money..If we have an eternal perspective we will not be able to take our possessions with us. In 1Cor 13 it states love never fails,..without love you are simply a Gong clanging.
Most people nowadays are so quick to divorce just because they have "fallen out of love"..they don't even want to try or work at it..it's so important to communicate/go on dates/spend time with our spouse..We should be putting God first, spouse second, children third, job fourth..etc.
Stop right now and think of what's important to you..
God chose to LOVE us, he never said I will love you if you get that job promotion, if you do this..he just said I love you. He made a "commitment" by sending his only son so that we can have eternal life! That's the greatest kind of love.
who or what do you love?

bible study: The light

In bible study last wed night we were talking about light vs darkness and if we should "judge' those who walk in darkness and how we should minister to them and i went home and a few days later I was reading in my devotinal Romans 14 vs 1-4.."Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgement on disputable matters. One man's faith allow him to eat everything but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything, must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand."
What an awesome verse. It reminds me we are all on a different walk in life ..those without God, those that believe but just go through the motions and those that are genuine in their faith. It doesn't mean we are "better" than anyone if our faith is so huge..It just means we have a different relationship ..we should stop "comparing" ourselves to others and each strive to do better and spend more time in the word and with God..He's always there..he's waiting for you to come spend time with him..are you willing? You have everything to Gain and nothing to lose!

Gratitude!

This Past monday I was getting ready for work and I was by myself ..thanks to my loving husband taking the kids to the gym..and I was talking to God and just thinking of all the things God has done for me recently and all of a sudden I was overcome/overflowing with Gratitude towards God. I then proceded to read my daily devotional and just happened to be on Romans 15 and I read vs 13 which states: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the holy spirit." This is exactly how I was feeling ..I felt God really speaking to me through this verse. His timing is always always so perfect!!!!!!

Josh's Job!

Good morning. Hope you all are having a blessed day! I wanted to share that God has answered my Prayer concerning Josh's job..recently he has been working shift work 12 hour/swing shifts (day and night shifts) and has been putting a strain on us since we haven't spent a lot of time together. I have been praying that God would open a door for a day shift _8 hours..I was praying really hard a few weeks ago for his job while in church and when church was over one of the men in charge of reviewing resumes for a day shift job that josh recently applied for was there getting a doughnut and needless to say he's actually in my bible study class (he comes every now and then)..just ironic that i met him right after praying..
Josh told me that over 70 applicants applied for this job and only 10 got selected for interviews..josh being one of them. He then recieved a call on wed afternoon being offered the job without having to even go in for the interview since he already knew the guys that were hiring and does reserve work for them. This is such a huge answer to prayer..God's timing is so perfect too since Josh and I are leaving today for New orleans for a marriage confrence. Now we can go and celebrate and focus on strengthening our marriage. God is GREAT!

WAKE UP!

hello everyone. I am new to this blogging so bear with me..I figured instead of writing things down in my journal about what God shows me I can do it here so you all can read about what He shows me on a daily/weekly basis. I think the best thing to do is share our experiences with others so God will get the Glory and people's faith can be strengthened.
God is always communicating with us we just have to have our eyes /ears open to what he has to say. A few weeks ago I was going to put on facebook "wake up before it's too late" under a link to a story about a pastor in MS that was in a tornado and how God told him to get under the altar table and he only recieved a few scratches. The next day they were outside all the debris having church and one of the church members found a hymnal laying open to the page, "after the storm.." ..I didn't put 'wake up before it's too late" since i thought that was too hard core even though an inner part of me wanted to..so i went to bed that night and I woke up to Ashley on the baby monitor saying "wake up"..she was talking in her sleep..i looked at my alarm clock and it said 3:33. I knew this was significant cause I remember a few weeks before my friend Michelle said God woke her up at 3: 33 and told her to open her scripture to Phil 2:13. I also think it's significant because 3:33 means to me 3= father, son, holy spirit, and 33 stands for age Jesus was when he died for our sins.
So needless to say that morning I was obedient and put "wake up before it's too late" on facebook. Anybody can see all the things going on it the world and might guess the end is near..the point is this..there will be an "end" to your life eventually ..whether or not Jesus comes while we are alive or whether we die..because we will die eventually..life is too short. It's time to come to Jesus if you don't know him..he's always there waiting for you. He took upon all our sins and died for each and every one of us ..it doesn't matter what you did or where you are right now..he's willing to accept you as you are ..just acknowledge him as your Lord and Savior , and confess your sins and you will be washed clean. He desires so badly to have a relationship with you! Come as you are..what do you have to lose???
